"Summer"

I still can't explain what about Cy Twombly's Four Seasons makes me weak in the knees. It looks a mess--scribbles and thrown paint. But maybe it is his raw abandon that I admire. Anyway, this is his Summer. It makes me want to dive inside to see what else there is to be found. Or lemonade in the evening with water balloons sailing over my head.

i love so much how much you love twombly's pieces - it makes them that much more beautiful for me.

and this piece - wow. this blog is seriously becoming a health hazard, as my heart keeps beating irregularly with each new post.

Lemonade in the evening with water balloons sailing overhead!?

wow. yes. more please.

I will never see this piece again without thinking that phrase.

(and would you consider expanding on that?)

i'm not sure if i could explain it--to me, the painting really does feel like summer. and my summers have always been tied to lemonade and waterballoons. i love, love, love that he uses that sorbet-y yellow all over the canvas. it's the exact shade of a summer sun: warm and bright.

Yes. Lovely.

And by 'expand' I also mean that I love that idea and I think you should consider giving us a poem that contains the phrase, or perhaps is titled as such.
