With one heart in Burma and a few others in America, this daily sketchboat will sail across that vast, interminable expanse of ocean to bring us happy friends together again.

black and white loveliness
remember the black & white party at the MOA a few years back? it reminded me of how much i love b&w--the starkness, the simplicity, and yet the intense depth that the two contrasting shades compose. here are two Raymond Saa sumi ink paintings and charcoal drawings (found on the delightful my love for you blog). i love this piecing together of things here
ohhhhh - these are so lovely! (i feel like i have posted this same comment all over this blog, but i would like to point out that my reaction has not yet diminished.) i love so so much the layering of the first. and i do believe my first love in art is the simple sketch composed in black pencil/charcoal on white paper. seriously, color is great, but there is something so exquisite about the basics of black and white.
